UHV Beam line powered by Vacuum Techniques
FAIR will be one of the largest and most complex accelerator facilities in the world. The FAIR accelerator facility will have the unique ability to provide particle beams of all the chemical elements (or their ions), as well as antiprotons.
Vacuum Techniques (VTPL) is proud to supply the UHV Beam Diagnostics chambers for the FAIR beam line. We supplied high precision beam diagnostics chambers which can achieve 10^-9 mbar vacuum without baking and sampled with residual gas analysis to prove zero hydrocarbon residue. These chambers were manufactured in our new ISO 10000 class cleanroom and with all the UHV manufacturing process procedures.
We supplied 60 chambers for the complete beam line in 11 different configurations for various diagnostics and instrumentation purposes. These chambers have dimensional tolerances of less than 50 microns and flatness and ovality requirements of less than 20 microns. Not an easy feat with chambers ranging from 500mm to 1300mm long with 7 to 8 ports.
